The Ministry of Health announced on Mar. 25 that it is implementing “Estamos contigo” (We Are With You) guidance modules in 16 hospitals across the country. The initiative, led by the Ministry through the Fondo Intangible Solidario de Salud (FISSAL), aims to ensure patients have timely access to high-cost treatments and do not abandon their medical care.

These new spaces provide clear information to users about their health rights and offer advice on how to complete administrative procedures and obtain financing for expensive treatments. The service is especially targeted at those insured under the Seguro Integral de Salud (SIS).

The Ministry said that these modules play a key role in supporting patients, not only by answering questions but also by helping with administrative processes within healthcare facilities. This support is intended to help users continue their treatments safely and without interruption.

As part of this strategy, informational sessions and campaigns are also being held within hospitals. These efforts are designed to expand the reach of the service so that more citizens can learn about and exercise their health rights.

According to the Ministry, FISSAL’s ongoing work reaffirms its commitment to providing more accessible, timely, and needs-centered care for the population.
