The Ministry of Health announced on March 31 that Line 113 Salud will remain available around the clock throughout the long Easter holiday. The service aims to ensure timely access to medical guidance and support for families across Peru who may need assistance during this period.
This announcement is important as many people travel or participate in outdoor activities during Easter, increasing potential health risks. The ministry said that keeping Line 113 open at all hours helps provide immediate support and information, especially when regular health services might be less accessible due to the holiday.
According to the ministry, Line 113 Salud is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified professionals who offer medical advice as well as counseling in nursing, obstetrics, nutrition, and psychology. The service also provides institutional health information free of charge.
The ministry urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and take preventive measures such as eating food from safe places, maintaining good hygiene habits, avoiding prolonged sun exposure, staying hydrated, using sunscreen, wearing appropriate clothing for outdoor activities, not self-medicating, and seeking care at a health facility if symptoms arise. Additional precautions against diseases like dengue fever and respiratory or gastrointestinal infections were also recommended.
During last year’s Easter holiday in 2025, Line 113 Salud attended to more than two thousand eight hundred citizens who received timely guidance on health matters. The ministry reminded the public that they can reach out for free by dialing 113 from anywhere in Peru or via WhatsApp at the provided numbers.
