The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, through Deputy Minister of Tourism Aracelly Laca Ramos, announced on April 8 the swearing-in ceremony for the Board of Directors of the Regional Tourism Advisory Committee (CCRT) in Ayacucho. The event took place at CITE Ayacucho.

The creation of this committee is intended to strengthen governance in the tourism sector and encourage development across regions. The ministry said that bringing together public officials, local governments, academia, business associations, and civil society will help identify gaps, prioritize projects, and promote investment in tourism.

Laca Ramos said that the CCRT “consolidates itself as a key space for coordination between the public and private sectors,” which will enable aligned efforts and coordinated actions to build a shared agenda for regional tourism development. She added that establishing this committee marks progress toward institutionalizing tourism policy in Ayacucho by providing a formal space for decision-making that ensures continuity over time. “We hope to have strengthened Regional Tourism Advisory Committees across regions consistently fulfilling their objectives with ongoing support and technical assistance from Mincetur,” Laca Ramos said.

According to data provided during the ceremony, the Historic Sanctuary Pampa de Ayacucho welcomed 235,924 visitors during 2025—an increase of 7.5% compared to 2024—and this figure surpassed by 50% those registered between January and December 2019. Between January and February 2026 alone, there were 43,291 visitors at the sanctuary—a rise of nearly 30% compared to early 2025 figures.

The Ministry contributes to cultural progress by fostering sustainable tourism according to its official website. It belongs to Peru’s Executive Branch with sector-specific autonomy according to its official website.
