The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) announced on March 25 that wholesale markets in Lima Metropolitan area saw an increase in the supply of fruits and vegetables, resulting in a variety of products available to both traders and consumers.

This update is significant as it reflects the stability and availability of essential food items for residents. According to official reports, a total of 7,304 tons of staple goods arrived at the main wholesale markets, including the Gran Mercado Mayorista de Lima (GMML) and Mercado Mayorista de Frutas No. 2 de La Victoria.

Poultry supplies were also sufficient to meet demand from retailers and consumers alike: live chicken was sold wholesale for an average price of S/8.10 soles/kg while eggs were distributed to wholesalers for around S/6.40 soles/kg.

MIDAGRI has launched a special platform providing up-to-date information on prices for tubers, fruits, vegetables and other staples across selected wholesale markets as well as retail points throughout Lima city which can be accessed by the public through this link: https://siea.midagri.gob.pe/portal/precios.
