The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) announced on March 31 a series of coordinated efforts with the Regional Government of Puno to support family farmers in the region. The announcement followed a working session aimed at creating an agenda to strengthen agricultural development.
The ministry said the discussions focused on key issues such as rural land titling, access to Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance, financing through credits and business plans, and improvements in agricultural health services. Officials also addressed plans for water resource projects and irrigation infrastructure intended to boost water availability for productive activities in Puno.
Environmental and forestry topics were also discussed during the session with the goal of promoting sustainable development within the region’s agricultural sector. MIDAGRI reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with regional authorities to improve services provided to local producers.
These actions reflect ongoing efforts by national authorities to enhance productivity and sustainability for family farmers in Puno.
