The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation began work on March 24 to prepare the technical plan for an urban mobility improvement project in the district of Recuay, located in the Áncash region. The initial phase includes topographic, geodetic, and soil mechanics studies.
This project is being carried out under a works-for-taxes model through the Comprehensive Neighborhood Improvement Program. It involves coordination between the Provincial Municipality of Recuay and Compañía Minera Antamina S.A., with private sector involvement both in preparing the technical documentation and executing construction.
A specialized team is currently verifying the intervention area, conducting soil studies, and identifying possible obstacles.
The planned investment exceeds S/20 million and will benefit 3,222 residents. Key elements include paving more than 44,000 square meters of roads and over 11,000 square meters of sidewalks. The project also aims to improve road signage and accessibility conditions for older adults and people with disabilities.
According to officials from the ministry’s General Communications Office, these improvements are expected to enhance mobility within Recuay by providing safer public spaces that are modern and inclusive.
