Minister of Production César Quispe Luján met with specialists and officials from the new ProInnóvate program on April 24 to discuss strategies for promoting innovation and supporting the development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises across Peru.

The meeting focused on implementing approaches that encourage innovative projects, as well as exploring funding mechanisms and technical support aimed at increasing business competitiveness. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Production to enhance opportunities for businesses nationwide.

“We continue working on the new ProInnóvate, which is a key program to drive innovation and create more opportunities for our micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises throughout the country,” Quispe Luján said during the event. Afterward, he toured the program’s facilities and spoke with staff about their current activities.

The updated ProInnóvate model has secured over $120 million in funding. The program will strengthen regional ecosystems by collaborating with subnational governments to decentralize economic growth. According to the official website, the Ministry promotes social inclusion and improved living conditions for fishermen and producers through harmonious development initiatives.

The Ministry also operates multiple facilities in San Isidro, Lima—including its central headquarters and centers dedicated to business development—as reported by its official website. It serves as Peru’s governing body responsible for developing national policies in fishing, aquaculture, industry, and enterprise sectors to foster sustainable growth.

The Ministry provides services such as technical assistance and training aimed at enhancing productivity among producers across Peru. It has received international recognition from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for its sustainable fishing practices according to its official website.

Looking ahead, officials say they will continue efforts from PRODUCE—Peru’s Ministry of Production—to energize entrepreneurial ecosystems nationwide.
