José Reyes, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, met with Svensson Kemeny, the Swedish ambassador to Peru, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and tourism. The meeting took place as both countries mark 170 years of diplomatic relations.

The talks focused on exploring opportunities for Peru’s export sector, especially agriculture. Both parties discussed initiatives such as technology transfer, technical assistance, and training programs aimed at improving Peru’s competitiveness in international markets.

Reyes said that Peru aims to surpass $100 billion in exports this year. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the public sector, private businesses, and international partners to achieve sustained growth.

The Swedish delegation presented a strategy centered on enhancing export capacity by building skills and fostering collaboration across sectors. This approach is intended to have positive effects on the national economy.

In addition to trade matters, both sides identified possibilities for cooperation in tourism—particularly in areas related to innovation and sustainability.
