The planned highway will stretch approximately 185 kilometers, featuring four lanes and connecting Lima with the Junín region. The goal is to link the Macrorregión Central with the coast and capital, facilitating integration across key areas.
During their meeting, both officials reviewed recent progress and discussed how this new road could support economic development by enhancing accessibility between regions. Minister Prieto Barrera said, “El ministro reafirmó el compromiso del sector de continuar impulsando acciones concretas que contribuyan a la modernización de la red vial nacional, en coordinación con el Congreso de la República y otros actores clave.” He also highlighted the need for coordinated efforts to ensure sustainable solutions that meet citizens’ needs and promote safer, more efficient transport throughout Peru.
