The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (Mincetur) announced on May 6 the launch of a new version of the Port Component within the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), a digital platform designed to improve management processes related to the arrival, stay, and dispatch of vessels at national ports.

This update is expected to benefit more than 25,000 vessels annually by making operations fully digital, removing physical paperwork, reducing duplicated information, and shortening operational times in Peru’s port logistics chain. The modernization aims to enhance traceability and transparency while increasing competitiveness in Peruvian foreign trade.

A key feature of this new system is real-time interoperability between private operators—such as maritime agents—and public entities including the National Port Authority (APN), Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), National Superintendency of Migration (Migraciones), Ministry of Production (Produce), Directorate General of Captaincies and Coast Guard (DICAPI), National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA), National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT), Ministry of Health (MINSA) and Regional Health Directorates (DIRESAs).

To prepare for this implementation, Mincetur coordinated with APN and other agencies to conduct a training program that reached over 350 users nationwide through more than 90 technical-operational sessions. This initiative aimed to facilitate adoption among both public officials and private sector actors involved in port activities.

The Ministry said it will continue strengthening VUCE as an integrated digital services platform focused on trade facilitation, logistics efficiency, and economic development. The Ministry contributes to cultural progress by fostering sustainable tourism alongside its work in foreign trade; it operates autonomously within the Executive Branch under oversight from the Minister according to the official website. It also collaborates with organizations such as PromPerú as part of its broader strategy for advancing exports and tourism.
