The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) announced on March 24 that it is inviting the private sector to participate in the second call for representatives of cargo owners and foreign trade operators to join the Multisectoral Commission for the Facilitation of Foreign Trade (COMUFAL).

This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between public and private sectors and improve efficiency in Peru’s foreign trade logistics chain. The commission serves as a forum where public entities and private stakeholders involved in foreign trade coordinate actions designed to promote measures that facilitate commerce, enhance transparency, increase predictability in operations, and reduce logistical costs.

COMUFAL includes four technical teams focused on strategic areas: the World Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement, logistics and infrastructure, digitalization, and supply chain security. Selected representatives will actively participate in these groups as well as contribute to implementing their work plans.

The selection process for representatives from both cargo owners and foreign trade operators runs from March 19 through March 31. Main and alternate representatives will be chosen from each sector, with results set to be published starting April 1.

Interested parties can review details about the call for applications or download required documents via Mincetur’s institutional portal. Applications should be submitted through the Virtual Desk addressed to the Directorate General for Foreign Trade Facilitation.
