The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) signed a three-way cooperation agreement with the National Agrarian University La Molina (UNALM) and the Junta de Usuarios del Sector Hidráulico Menor Rímac Clase B on March 26. The aim is to promote joint actions in agricultural development and water resource management.

This agreement is intended to enhance technical assistance, information exchange, dissemination of activities, and participation in institutional events among the parties. These efforts are expected to contribute to the development of Peru’s agricultural sector.

Meza Millán also said it is both a challenge and responsibility for all sectors—public and private—to work together to provide security for rural populations and prevent possible harm. He added that this alliance seeks to establish a permanent platform for collaboration between public entities, academia, and water users.

The signing took place at UNALM’s main auditorium during the first forum marking World Water Day 2026. The event brought together authorities, specialists, and user organizations to share experiences aimed at strengthening integrated water resources management.

MIDAGRI reaffirmed its commitment to promoting efficient use of water resources as well as sustainable agricultural development.
