The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) announced on March 23 that the week began with a wide variety of products available to both merchants and consumers. These include beans, tomatoes, green beans, melons, oranges, prickly pears, and others. The ministry said that food supplies arrived at wholesale markets as usual.

This update is important for both sellers and buyers who rely on stable access to essential food items in Lima’s major markets. Reliable supply can help stabilize prices and ensure availability for families across the city.

According to official reports from MIDAGRI, wholesale markets in the capital received a total of 8,659 tons of essential goods this morning. This figure includes deliveries to both the Gran Mercado Mayorista de Lima (GMML) and the Wholesale Fruit Market No. 2 in La Victoria. At GMML alone, there were 6,331 tons of products such as legumes, vegetables, and tubers delivered today. The report also notes that potato varieties accounted for 918 tons entering the market.

Wholesale prices reported by MIDAGRI this morning included carrots at S/1.15 per kilogram; bagged limes at S/1.28; macre squash at S/1.53; red onions at S/1.65; huayro potatoes at S/1.93; green broad beans from the highlands at S/2; Yungay potatoes at S/2.05; long olluco root at S/2.08; yellow sweet potatoes at S/2.18; unica potatoes at S/2.45; peruanita potatoes at S/2.65; yellow potatoes at S/2.95; yellow cassava and purple sweet potato each priced around S/3 per kilogram.

At La Victoria’s Fruit Market No. 2 today there were deliveries totaling 2,328 tons—a volume slightly higher than averages recorded over recent Mondays—featuring offers like watermelon for S/.85 per kilogram or coquito melon for just under one sol per kilo.

The ministry also confirmed sufficient poultry supplies: live chicken was sold wholesale around S/.8 per kilo while eggs were offered near S/.6 per kilo.

To assist citizens further with price tracking across various points of sale—including both major wholesalers and selected retail outlets—the ministry has launched an online platform where up-to-date pricing information is available: https://siea.midagri.gob.pe/portal/precios.
