The Instituto Tecnológico de la Producción (ITP), part of the Ministry of Production, announced on April 1 that five of its Centers for Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITE) are taking part in regional fairs and decentralized activities during Holy Week. The initiative aims to showcase productive innovation from various regions and encourage the consumption of value-added products.
This participation is significant as it brings innovative and sustainable options to local communities, aligning with traditional consumption patterns observed during Holy Week. By engaging with these events, ITP seeks to strengthen connections between producers, entrepreneurs, and consumers while promoting regional development.
In San Martín region, CITEproductivo San Martín is participating in the fair “El pescado donde el paiche es el rey” at Juanjuí’s Plaza de Armas. Here, innovative products made from aquatic resources are being displayed, with a focus on highlighting the potential of paiche fish. The event also promotes technological services offered by CITE and supports skill development among aquaculture practitioners and culinary professionals.
Meanwhile, in Ucayali region on April 2 and 3, CITEproductivo Pucallpa will join the “Gran Feria del Pescado Amazónico por Semana Santa 2026,” organized by DEVIDA at Estadio Aliardo Soria Pérez. This event is expected to attract around 500 visitors between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for local fish farmers to promote their products.
Other activities include CITEpesquero Ilo’s involvement in Moquegua region at Pampa Inalámbrica fairgrounds where they will present products developed through technical assistance. In Ayacucho region, Unidad Técnica Acuícola Pesquera Huancavelica will participate in the “Feria Nacional de Semana Santa 2026” from April 2-4 to share information about their services with new production units. Additionally, professionals from CITEproductivo Maynas will be present at Loreto’s “Feria de Pescado por Semana Santa 2026” on April 2 with a strategic outreach module focused on improving competitiveness within fisheries supply chains.
According to ITP Red CITE officials, these efforts aim to bring innovative proposals closer to the public while supporting sustainable practices that respect local traditions.
