The Ministry of Health announced on March 17 that the Hospital Santa Rosa has started a free bilateral mammography screening campaign for women between the ages of 40 and 69. The initiative will run throughout March and is open to women across the country, regardless of their health insurance status or whether they have a referral or medical order.

The campaign aims to promote early detection of breast cancer by providing comprehensive care at no cost. According to the Ministry, this approach is intended to save lives by making preventive services more accessible.

To streamline access, Hospital Santa Rosa has introduced an online form that allows users to request a mammogram remotely. After completing the registration from anywhere in Peru, hospital staff will contact patients directly to schedule appointments. Those interested can access the form at https://acortar.link/hEFQXN. In-person service remains available for those who prefer it; patients can visit the X-ray Service reception from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The hospital uses advanced technology for diagnosis, including a tomosynthesis mammograph that produces three-dimensional images of breast tissue. Dr. Ivonne Gavancho Rodríguez, coordinator of the Mammography Service, said this tool is essential for detecting cancer in its early stages when treatment is most effective and recovery chances are highest.

The Ministry of Health and Hospital Santa Rosa encourage eligible women to participate in this preventive effort by using either the digital form or visiting the facility in Pueblo Libre.
