Gladys Mónica Triveño Chan Jan was named president of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) Alumni and Graduates Association, according to a March 24 announcement. The election took place on March 19 at NOS PUCP, with Triveño set to serve from 2026 to 2028.

Triveño said it is an honor to lead the association and emphasized her commitment to expanding its membership and strengthening the university’s reputation both nationally and internationally. “We will work so that the name PUCP continues shining,” Triveño said during her remarks as she assumed leadership.

She explained that her administration aims to collaborate closely with PUCP in order to engage more alumni, especially younger graduates, encouraging them to take active roles as ambassadors for their alma mater. She also announced plans to continue strategies from the previous board led by Víctor Gobitz, focusing on increasing membership and creating spaces for dialogue about national issues through conferences and research activities.

Triveño highlighted the importance of showcasing stories of employability among alumni as inspiration for new generations. She pointed out that one goal is for every graduate to represent PUCP in their professional lives by demonstrating strong abilities in idea generation, execution, leadership, and teamwork—skills she attributes to the university’s humanistic education model.

The new board has already begun designing strategic lines of action for this period. Efforts will also be made toward securing additional corporate sponsorships.

The new executive council includes Vice President Ana Cecilia Ames Tineo de Saavedra (Economics), Secretary María Rosa Morán Macedo (Law), Treasurer Guillermo José Tavera Vega (Economics), members Santiago Ruiz Orrego (Industrial Engineering), Cecilia Mercedes Vásquez Erazo (Accounting), and Alfredo Chang Chong (Accounting). The qualification committee is chaired by Sheyla Blumen Cohen (Psychology) with Jacqueline Maria Chappuis Cardich (Law) and Javier Faustino Viza La Rosa (Economics) as members.
