The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos announced on May 8 that the Faculty of Systems and Computer Engineering won the music festival at the XXVIII Interfaculty Folklore Festival, which was held as part of the university’s 475th anniversary celebrations.

The event highlighted student talent from across 17 faculties, drawing a full audience and enthusiastic supporters. The competition has become an important platform for showcasing musical art among students and promoting camaraderie within the university community.

After more than four hours of performances featuring genres such as rock, salsa, cumbia, and merengue, the jury awarded first place to the Faculty of Systems and Computer Engineering with 276 points. The Faculty of Medicine San Fernando took second place with 273 points, while third went to Law and Political Science with 264 points. The winning group performed songs including “Fuego y agua” by Susana Baca, “Vale la pena” by Juan Luis Guerra, “Tormento” by Mon Laferte, and “Hipercandombe” by Charly García. Their preparation included three months of rehearsals involving fifteen students from professional schools within their faculty.
