Preselected candidates for the Beca 18 scholarship, call 2026, have until April 27 to apply in the program’s second and final application period, according to an announcement on Apr. 23. The National Program of Scholarships and Educational Credit (Pronabec) said this phase will award the remaining 70 percent of the total 5,184 scholarships through a virtual and free application process.

This opportunity is open only to those who were preselected based on high academic performance but did not secure a spot or apply in the first round. The scholarships are comprehensive, covering both academic costs and additional expenses such as food, accommodation, local transportation, study materials, uniforms or safety equipment, laptops, interprovincial transport, and English language courses for all categories except Children of Teachers.

Pronabec also confirmed that support continues for current beneficiaries of the Bicentennial Generation Scholarship—283 students pursuing postgraduate studies at top international universities. In parallel with these efforts, Pronabec is advancing a reengineering process aimed at ensuring proper use of public resources so that investment in higher education scholarships delivers concrete benefits to Peruvians.
