Beca Perú announces over 600 scholarship slots for private universities and institutes in 18 regions

The Ministry of Education of Peru announced on Apr. 29 that the Beca Perú program is offering more than 600 scholarships for students to pursue university or technical careers at private institutions located in 18 regions across the country.

This initiative aims to increase access to higher education opportunities for Peruvian students by providing funded places at institutions with campuses in departments such as Cusco, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Lima, Piura, Junín, Loreto, La Libertad, Callao, Áncash, Ica, Huánuco, Lambayeque, Tacna, Cajamarca, Ucayali, San Martín and Puno. Applicants can choose from a variety of academic fields including Administration and Finance, Accounting, Economics, Environmental Engineering and Industrial Engineering.

Minister of Education María Esther Cuadros said: “We highlight the coordinated work between the public and private sectors so that more Peruvians have opportunities to access higher education.”

According to the official website of the Ministry of Education of Peru the ministry promotes sports opportunities as part of its educational initiatives. The ministry also advances cultural and social well-being by promoting equity and interculturality while working toward eliminating discrimination in education according to its official website. The application process for Beca Perú is free and online until Wednesday May 13 at 11:59 p.m., through www.pronabec.gob.pe/beca-peru/. Each scholarship has specific benefits and requirements determined by each educational institution; recipients are responsible for costs not covered by their award.
