The Compañía de Ballet de Trujillo presented “Swan Lake” to more than 700 attendees during performances held on April 17 and 18 at the Casa de la Identidad Regional, according to an announcement on April 20. The event featured dancers from the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de La Libertad of the Ministry of Culture of Peru.
The production brought classical ballet to a broad audience, with notable performances by Julia Pacheco in the dual role of Odette/Odile and Fabio Goncalves as Prince Siegfried. The audience responded with a standing ovation. Many spectators shared positive feedback online, praising both the quality of the performance and its role in making ballet accessible in important regional venues.
Attendees from neighboring cities also highlighted how such events help decentralize access to culture and strengthen artistic opportunities in northern Peru. The show included music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreography based on the classic version by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.
Christian Arbaiza Mendoza, director of the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura de La Libertad, said that plans are being considered to repeat this production in other locations. He invited residents to follow institutional social media for updates about future shows.
