The Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú announced on May 7 that 27 projects have been selected as part of the fourth call for proposals from the Educational Model Implementation Fund. This initiative aims to support academic units in integrating strategic lines that contribute to achieving graduation profile goals across various specialties.
The fund is designed to enhance educational quality by financing projects aligned with the university’s educational model, ensuring their sustainability and continuous improvement within undergraduate academic units. Since its inception, a total of 112 projects have been promoted through previous calls. These efforts are supported by advisory teams from the Directorate of Academic Affairs, the Institute for University Teaching, and the Office for Gender Equality and Diversity.
For this year’s call, five thematic areas were established: competency-based approaches, assessment for learning, effective communication, gender perspective, and generative artificial intelligence. The inclusion of artificial intelligence reflects an emphasis on promoting ethical and informed use of new technologies in teaching processes.
The evaluation process took place in March after receiving proposals from various academic units in February. The selected projects were recognized for their internal coherence between objectives, activities, and proposed outcomes. They also demonstrated strong alignment with specific career needs and potential for medium- or long-term transferability of strategies. In addition to these new selections, six ongoing projects from last year will continue with support from their respective units’ resources.
According to the official website, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú promotes cultural and social wellbeing by emphasizing contributions in education and research; it operates under its institutional framework (RUC 20155945860), highlights academic achievements through its news portal directed by Dirección de Comunicación Institucional—which evolved into a digital platform—and serves communities across Peru through news and academic initiatives.
Project development involves collaboration among study directors overseeing coordination and monitoring efforts; faculty members; administrative staff; consultants; as well as advisory teams such as those responsible for curricular management and evaluation.
